With this artwork I am looking for why menstrual blood is thought of as extremely disgusting. Which is a bit strange since it is bassicaly the only blood that is not a result of violence.

In many cultures women are seen as unclean while menstruating. At the same time menstruation is often thought of as a moment of cleansing.

By portraying a dessert made with my own menstrual blood I comment on the flirtatious question a lot of people ask their partner. "Can I have you for dessert?" Reffering to cunnilingus, which is often considered very gross when a person is menstruating.
